Regional Convention - March 1, 2008
Host Alpha Kappa Psi

Seventy-three chapter officers, members, advisors, and guests attended the Regional Convention at Kapi’olani Community College.  The theme of the convention was “Choosing to Sustain the Earth”.  Ulubek “Bek” Baymuradov, Division IV International Vice President presented the host chapter with the convention plaque and gave a headquarters update.   Guest Speaker Ramsey Taum, Special Assistant to the Dean, Travel Industry Management School title address: “Looking to Hawai‘i’s Past to Sustain Our Future.”  Special guest Guest Sondra Holbert, former Ohio Regional President attended the convention. 

The fourth annual Pineapple Bowl Trivia contest led by the regional officers got the membership stimulated and mentally challenged. This year the Pineapple Bowl went to the combined efforts of Alpha Kappa Iota, Alpha Lambda Theta, and Alpha Pi Xi. 

The Regional Awards Program concluded the Regional Convention.  Chapters submitted twenty-eight Hallmark and Regional awards entries and eight chapters received Chapter Development Awards.  This year, four chapters achieved Level 5 in the Five Star Program.
